Along with getting back to the basics with the AR15, I took this book back to the basics along with that focus. This one doesn’t look like, and isn’t structured like, the past few I’ve done. Books like the Builders Guide and Top-Grade Ammo were built from concept upward as manuals, guides, step-by-step books that cover their topics. For those, I follow a sort of “magazine”-style layout with a lot of separated content, focused differently, and a ton and a half of photos. Much of the information is in the photo captions. Not as much “straight” writing.
This one is more like my first couple of books. There are a lot of photos (of course) but not as much boxed-off and separately-segmented “layouts-within-the-layout.” This book might seem shorter, and comparing its word-count to some in the past, there is actually more in here than in some that have more pages, but that’s because space is used more efficiently when the overwhelming majority content flows less interrupted throughout. I decided to follow the “pure” manuscript approach, and I very much hope you like it.

DETAILS COMPLETE THE PICTURE. This whole book is one mighty detail: define it, explain it, show it. That's done over and over and over again through America's Gun: The Practical AR15. There's no way on this single page with the few photo spots I created to get close to the depth of the content in this book. There are dozens of building and assembly tips, maintenance tricks, loading advice, and more than you'll ever want to know about barrels, brakes, and gas blocks.
